Star Trauth

When I was a child I lived in a hippie commune outdoors. This means we did not live in a house we lived at the foot of a mountain outside. The only inside was a pop-up tent that we slept in to protect us from animals. My childhood was carefree, I played in the grass, climb trees, picked fruits and vegetables, whittled, and created with anything I could find.
Recently I survived cancer. For years I was in bed in my home or at the cancer center. No outside. Now I am cancer free but I had to have radiation treatment. That means I cannot be in the sun for more than minutes before I start to burn. The grasslands are gone for me. I am glad I have them as memories.
Trauth considers art her primary career and passion and states, “The rest has branched from that tree.” Her art practice seeks to attract the audience visually with a desire for tactile engagement. She’s sought to create new art mediums with environmentalism in mind, using waste paper and plastic, and converting it to a flat pliable textile. Star hand molds and flame sculpts each piece, miniature original works in their own right, then melds them as free-standing sculpture, assemblage, or wall hanging. Though she has created her own medium Trauth will use other forms of traditional media to achieve her vision. Her work is heavily inspired by music, experiences from her adventurous life, and currently a fierce battle with cancer. This has also led her to dabble in new media while she regains her strength. Curated into over 100 exhibitions, including 22 museums in the last 10 years. Most recently she has a heartfelt and provocative written piece in Yoko Ono’s ‘Arising’ at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway.

The pollution of the environment, the destruction and plundering of nature is the serious and worrying phenomenon of today. The future of the planet and of man is inextricably linked to the preservation and protection of our natural environment. Everyone of us can and ought to contribute in every way, depending on his capabilities, to the protection of the natural world he lives in. Nature is our oxygen, our umbilical cord with life. Motivated by these thoughts, I created this artwork using useless materials (rubbish), which are plentiful around us (e.g. plastic bottles, fish trunks etc.) and which reveal the full lack of sensitivity for the world around us. These useless materials turn into work of protest man’s indifference to nature and his scorn about his own life. My goal is to sensitize everyone to protect the environment.
I was Born in Nea Artaki, Evia in 1943. In 1996 I graduated from the Department of Painting with Honors and in 2000 from the Department of Sculpture with Honors. In 1999 I participated with paintings in a three-day festival on “Man-Environment-Nature” at the port of Nea Artaki. In 2002 I participated by selection in the International Art Symposium in Palanga, Lithuania. In 2002-2004 I participated in the International Miniature Exhibition on “Olympic Idents”. In 2006 I participated in Medusa Gallery “Avgou Engomion” in Athens. In 2017 I participated by selection in the 7th Beijing International Biennale of Art. In 2019 I participated by selection in the 8th Beijing International Art Biennale. From 2020 until today I participate with my works selected by a jury in various International Digital Art Exhibitions including Germany, India, Norway, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal,Turkey,USA, Shanghai, Malaysia and other countries around the world. In 2021 I participated by selection in the 9th International Art Biennale in Beijing. From 2020 until today I have participated by selection in ten Biennales organized by IAVPOA, in Lithuania.

This painting is all about impacts of natural Ecosystem .Day and night and the symbol of good are depicted in this Mithila painting. In this painting, the Sun is depicted on one side and the Moon on the other side. Trees in the middle and fish swimming in the water are depicted. The Sun is a symbol of daylight and the Moon is a symbol of night. Water is the basis of survival for animals and trees are the basis of human life. The structure of life is celebrated as a symbol of life and the fish is a symbol of good luck. How is the life, lifestyle and daily routine of human beings going on in the light of day? How do other creatures experience the cleanliness of the environment with Waluj, such as In daylight, humans can do their household chores in a simple manner. They can easily carry out their daily routines and travel outside the home. The physical structure of humans is designed in such a way that sunlight is important. The importance of the environment is that of all the living creatures living in the environment. It is important that is why daylight has its own importance.
Similarly, at night, along with the lifestyle of human beings, the lifestyle of many other animals also gets affected, the environment also remains clean and calm due to less activity at night. Man relaxes his body. It gives great control to the external activities of every living being. Just as many animals in the world cannot see in daylight, they can see in night light. If seen in a natural way, night has its own significance. The life of trees and plants is like the life of humans, first a tree is a small plant, then it grows and bears fruits, then grows old and at some point gets destroyed. According to mythological tradition, fish is considered a sign of auspiciousness. Seeing fish in the house or in water is a symbol of good luck."" My work is based on interaction with outer and inner space. When I am painting, I take inspiration from surrounding and I take decision for form of my painting spontaneously. In this painting, easel interacted me as human body as architectural form. My emotional dilemma expressed emphasis with yellow and gray color through my gray matter journey. textural lines and composition created the mapping of spatial space which has developed within time and space.
I have done my Graduate Diploma in fine arts from Rajasthan School of Arts, Jaipur (India) after that I have completed my Post Diploma in creative painting from M.S. University, Vadodara (India). I won many awards in field of painting like national Scholarship, state art awards, young artist award and merit awards from my university. I have participated in many national and international exhibition and art workshop/residency. Now I am working as an artist and Art & Design educator in World University of Design, Sonipat
My rural up-bringing when integrated with the urban psyche triggers in my mind questions of a socio-political nature. Through my works I explore the conflicts between this relationship and my journey from one set of customs to another. The psyche of Indian rural life has impacted my aesthetics deeply and provided an approach more humanistic in its understanding of life and values. At once i am an insider and posed as a spectator from an urbanized contemporary platform. My work allows me to capture my emotional journey and understand my own identity. I use humor in my work to translate this interplay between nostalgia with urban life. These expressions are for me my personal protest and in making them visual they are tangible. I work spontaneously allowing my psyche to guide composition and work in the moment. Likewise, I allow myself to be open to whatever medium my idea requires. This way my concept is realized, and my works can grow simultaneously with my psyche.

These costumes are inspired by the groundbreaking 60s designer Paco Rabanne. My work evolves geometric designs into complex patterns, transitioning from order to chaos. Materials and Appearance: - Constructed from telephone cards covered with reflective or fancy paper. - Enhanced by additional metal rings. - Mimic the look of metal, projecting the illusion of manipulating paper. - Appear bizarre, illusive, and absurd, yet wearable. Design Concept: - Integrates old-fashioned styles with futuristic elements. - Creates a unique blend of eras, termed ""Old Future"" fashion. Cultural Reflection: - Represents the contemporary desire to blend tradition with progress. - Appeals to those who appreciate both the history of fashion and the transformative potential of technology.

Wanda Yeng-Seng
Reunion - France
« Beyond the dance of clouds » takes us on a journey to the heart of ancestral Far Eastern culture.
From time immemorial, the mountain has been a place of travel, sanctuary and a source of inspiration. In its waltz with the rain, the cloud embodies the creative power of desire and love. It is the song of cosmic harmony. It speaks of the emperor's greatness, bears witness to the hermit's spirituality and attests to the scholar's loyalty. It unites with the mountain, in pure plenitude.
The future will be born from the gaze of the great absentee. That of the man to come. With his eyelashes that will set history ablaze. And his eyes that will look beyond the passage of time.
Wanda Yeng-Seng is Senior lecturer in public law in the University of Reunion island and expert in international public law and international relationships of the Indian ocean. Having long learned about the world through books, she realized that the quest for meaning that guided her was elsewhere. An elsewhere that goes beyond the space where she was born, Reunion Island. An elsewhere through the Other. It is in this vein that her passion for art stems. Her quest carries with it the values of her lineage. Those of her mother, from Reunion Island, whose roots stretch from France to the lands of Africa, and who taught her hope and freedom. And those of her father, of Chinese origin, who instilled in her a sense of perseverance and respect for Confucian principles. Just as her grandparents, both, artists, taught her a love of knowledge and art, the duty of transmission and sensitivity to certain causes.

"REFLECTIONS OF YESTERDAY” is an abstract work that shows a city reflected in a lake, symbolizing memories and expectations of the past. The reflections in the water represent how the promises and visions of the future are perceived today. The work highlights the complexity and beauty of these memories, using colors and abstract shapes to evoke emotions and thoughts about the past and the future, connecting us with the reflection on how our expectations have evolved.

My work is an exploration of the interplay between form, rhythm, and space. In particular, I am fascinated by the way that lines can convey a sense of movement and energy, and how the repetition of these lines can create a rhythm that pulls the viewer in.
In my current series, I am working with white abstract lines that are carefully placed and repeated to create a sense of flow and movement across the canvas. These lines are not meant to represent anything specific; rather, they are a purely abstract exploration of form and space.
Through the use of negative space and subtle variations in line thickness and placement, I aim to create a visual experience that is both dynamic and meditative. My hope is that viewers will be drawn into the rhythmic patterns of the lines, and that this repetition will evoke a sense of calm and contemplation.
Overall, my work is an attempt to capture the beauty and complexity of the natural world through abstract forms. By reducing the visual elements to their simplest forms and focusing on rhythm and space, I hope to create a sense of harmony and balance that resonates with viewers on a deep level.
